Engineered by Panasonic specialists, for sector specialists

Unlike our competitors, Panasonic Toughbooks aren’t built using third-party components. We design and build every part of a Toughbook ourselves. So every form, feature and function is built specifically for purpose and quality control is unrivalled.

Toughbooks travel tough

Approximately 50% of all damage to notebooks is the result of accidents on the road such as drops and other impacts. The display, casing and hard drive are most frequently affected, which is why we developed our Toughbooks so that they are impact and shock resistant. Toughbook casings are made of a magnesium alloy making the strength of the case several times greater than standard hard plastic casings.

Using flexible suspension and magnesium alloy thickener on all displays protects the screen and absorbs any impact. The hard drives are embedded in a newly developed material, offering first class impact and shock resistance.

All Fully Ruggedized models comply with the MIL-Standard (MIL-STD 810G)¹ on impact resistance and additionally meet the ingress protection norm IP65 on water and dust resistance².

In doing, so we allow organisations to overcome many of the usual barriers to data and application access encountered in the field.

Screen Visibility

Working in the field means screen visibility in sunlight can be a serious obstacle. Toughbooks come equpped with cutting-edge display technology for brilliant presentation under direct sunlight and background illumination for working at night.

Multi-functionality

Integrated HSPA, GPS and other application-specific module options. They make even the smallest form factor Toughbooks the mobile multifunctional tool for the most demanding working conditions.

Reliability/Durability

Even our smallest machines meet the challenges of field working in the automotive sector. Take the Toughbook ultra-mobile PC (UMPC) CF-U1. At 1060 grams, the unit can withstand falls from 120 cm. What’s more, some of our models are up to IP65 compliant for dust and moisture resistance².

No Power Access

Toughbooks have a newly designed battery and specially adapted power management system. This allows up to 8 hours of running time from a single battery charge.

Connectivity

The integrated WLAN and optional HSPA module make it possible to do tasks like capturing and sending digital images – even when working in challenging outdoor conditions. This means you reduce delays to the road network and cut any penalties you might face.

Data Protection

As well as password utilities, BIOS Kill, TPM and a hard drive lock, Toughbooks come with Recover Pro security and backup software, so your data is never at risk.

Ergonomics

You need to take devices into the field – which means mobility is crucial. Small, mountable form factors and unique design features such as an integrated handle mean Toughbooks go wherever you need them to.

Hygiene

Featuring fanless design, and with models such as the CF-H2 being resistant to 42 types of disinfectant and meeting EU Hospital Safety Certifications, Toughbooks are ideally suited to environments where hygiene is critical.
